Madison officials comment on School Safety Task Force report
The Huntsville Times spoke with Madison city and school officials following the presentation of the School Safety Task Force final report Wednesday night. Officials seemed pleased with the work of the task force. “If we follow the recommendations we will have a world class security system,” Madison School Superintendent Dee Fowler told the Times.
Madison Mayor Paul Finley said, “They have given us a road map for success . . . We can start working this plan with the most important and easy to fix on the front end. The task force’s time and effort will make a bid difference in the years to come.”
Paying for all of the recommendations, however, was a concern of Fowler, who told WAFF, “It’s our job to take that plan and try to digest what is in there and see what we can work out for next year. We’ll see how our budget works with that, how the city works with us, state and other agency’s work with us, and incorporate it into making our schools safer.”
